Cancer Screening Camp

On 27th May 2026, Rotary Club of Siliguri Uttorayon, in association with Manipal Cancer Hospital, successfully organized a Cancer Screening Camp along with a General Health Check-up Camp at Uttorayon Yoga Shed. The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from the residents of Uttorayon and nearby areas. A large number of people availed themselves of the facilities provided at the General Health Check-up Camp. During the Cancer Screening Camp, screenings for Oral Cancer, Breast Cancer, and Cervical Cancer were conducted, benefiting many residents and spreading awareness regarding the importance of early detection and preventive healthcare.

Marathon

On the occasion of Mother’s Day, the Rotary Club of Siliguri Uttorayon successfully organized a “ Marathon” with the objective of spreading awareness about respect, care, and appreciation for mothers and women in society. The event witnessed an enthusiastic participation of 145 participants from different age groups and backgrounds

Rotary Clock Tower

On 18th May, the Rotary Club of Kakarvita, District 3292 Nepal, in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Siliguri Uttorayon, District 3240, ceremonially laid the foundation stone of the Rotary Clock Tower at Kakarvita Indo-Nepal Border.

On the occasion of Earth Day, Rotary Club of Siliguri Uttorayon, in collaboration with Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), successfully organized a plantation drive and planted 500 medicinal tree saplings. The initiative was undertaken with the objective of promoting environmental sustainability, increasing green cover, and spreading awareness about the importance of medicinal plants in maintaining ecological balance and public health. Members of all participating organizations actively took part in the plantation program and reaffirmed their commitment towards a greener and healthier future. The event marked a meaningful celebration of Earth Day and reflected the collective responsibility of the community towards environmental conservation.

On the occasion of the 121st Rotary Foundation Day, Rotary Club of Siliguri Uttorayon organized a Walkathon along with the students of Acharya Prafulla Chandra Primary School, Nepali Basti, Siliguri. During the event, students were apprised about Rotary, its values and its service to society. Local residents also gathered and listened about Rotary’s achievements and its contribution towards community development. The Walkathon was followed by a cake-cutting ceremony to mark the Foundation Day. Refreshments were distributed among the students and teachers of the school.

Happy School Inauguration

It may be noted that Acharya Prafulla Chandra Primary School has been developed and inaugurated as a Happy School by Rotary Club of Siliguri Uttorayon. The club has provided basic amenities to ensure a better and joyful learning environment for the children.

Blood Donation Camp

The Rotary Club of Siliguri Uttorayon, in collaboration with the Rotary Blood Bank and the 20 Wing Air Force Bagdogra, successfully organized a Blood Donation Camp at the Air Force Station Medical Center, Bagdogra, on February 13, 2026. The program was formally inaugurated by Air Force Station Chief Mr. Manish Sharma, whose presence and encouragement added great significance to the noble initiative. The event was also graced by the Station Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Atul Sharma, along with other senior officers and staff members of the Indian Air Force. The blood donation camp witnessed enthusiastic participation and reflected the strong spirit of service and community partnership between the Indian Air Force and Rotary. Such initiatives play a crucial role in strengthening healthcare support and ensuring the availability of life-saving blood for those in need. Total 40 unit of blood collected.

Medical camp

Rotary Club of Siliguri Uttorayon, in association with Arogyam Healthcare, organised a Free Health Check-up Camp on 25 January 2026 at Bagdogra. A total of 90 patients were examined by Gynaecologist and Physician doctors. Free consultations, BP and Blood Sugar checks, CBC tests, and free medicines were provided to all beneficiaries. The camp was well appreciated by the local community and reflected Rotary’s commitment to community health and service

Samvaad 25

The Rotary Club of Siliguri Uttorayon proudly sponsored Samvaad’25, a two-day Model United Nations conference, in alignment with Rotary International’s Area of Focus on Basic Education and Literacy. The programme aimed to promote research, reading, critical thinking, effective communication, and leadership skills among students—key pillars of holistic literacy. Mayoor School, Siliguri, graciously provided the venue for the conference, enabling a vibrant platform for structured dialogue and diplomacy. Samvaad’25 brought together young delegates to deliberate on national and global issues, fostering civic awareness, global understanding, and responsible citizenship. Through this initiative, Rotary Club of Siliguri Uttorayon reaffirmed its commitment to empowering youth and strengthening education as a pathway to peace, cooperation, and sustainable leadership.

Walkathon

Rotary club of Siliguri Uttorayon in collaboration with the KINS Diabetes & Research Foundation, successfully organized a Walkathon and Awareness Rally on 14th November to mark World Diabetes Day.

During the official District Governor’s visit to our club on 9th November 2025, the Rotary Club of Siliguri Uttorayon had the privilege of donating a wheelchair to a completely paralyzed patient. The wheelchair was generously donated by our esteemed member Rtn. Kuldeep Bansal, and the presentation was graciously made by the District Governor himself. This noble gesture reflects our club’s dedication to service and compassion towards differently-abled individuals, reinforcing Rotary’s commitment to making a meaningful difference in the community.

Medical Camp

Rotary Club of Siliguri Uttorayon has initiated a Medical Camp and First Aid facility near the Durga Puja pandal, keeping in mind the large number of devotees visiting the celebrations. This service will remain available throughout the Puja to provide timely help and support to those in need.

Food For All

On the sacred occasion of Mahalaya, Rotary Club of Siliguri Uttorayon organized a “Food for All” campaign at Hanuman Mandir, Malaguri. 🍲 With love and service, we served meals to nearly 1,600 people, spreading joy, compassion, and the true spirit of Rotary. Together, we believe in Service Above Self and creating a world where no one sleeps hungry.

Blood Donation Camp

Rotary Club of Siliguri Uttorayon, in association with Mahakal Mandir Parishad organized a Mega Blood Donation Camp on 20/09/25 at Marwari Seva Sadan, Darjeeling. The camp witnessed an overwhelming response, with a total of 92 units of blood collected, contributing towards saving many lives.

In a commendable step towards promoting hygiene, safety, and dignity for female students, the Rotary Club of Siliguri Uttorayan inaugurated a newly-constructed women’s toilet at Tarabari High School on July 8. This vital initiative aims to encourage continued education among girl students by ensuring access to basic sanitation facilities. It aligns with the objectives of national missions like Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao, reinforcing the club’s commitment to social upliftment. Club leaders including Immediate Past President Rtn. Brij Mohan Garg, President Rtn. Dr. A.K. Jha, Secretary Rtn. Rajiv Ranjan Ojha, and former District Governor Rtn. Piyush Kanti Roy were present at the inauguration. The presence of smiling young girls at the event underscored the positive impact of this project, which not only provides a clean and safe facility but also inspires confidence and self-respect among the students.

Youth Marathon

National Male Marathon – Season 1 🏁 Rotary Club of Siliguri Uttorayon, in proud association with the International Human Rights & Crime Control Organisation and Shine Future Academy, successfully organized a high-energy Marathon Run 2025 on 27th July! 🚩 The thrilling run began from Siliguri Desun Hospital, Naukaghat and reached its finish line at SSB, Ranidanga, with the participation of over 100 enthusiastic runners! 🏆 The top performers were felicitated with cash prizes and accolades in recognition of their strength, spirit, and determination. 👏 Rotary Club of Siliguri Uttorayon is proud to be associated with such youth-driven, fitness-forward initiatives that promote unity, discipline, and a healthy lifestyle.

Maternal and Child Health

On the month of Maternal and Child Health Month by rotary initiative, Rotary Club of Siliguri Uttorayon proudly extended a small gesture of care and compassion by distributing nutritional supplements and awareness program to newborn babies and their mothers.
